Today I Honor the Mother In Us All

Some time ago I started a board at Pinterest and titled it Momma. Collecting pictures that reflected the good mother has helped me in my healing process from mother-daughter sexual abuse. Today I honor the mother in us all.

  1. Hi, dear Kate.

I can only imagine the mixed feelings you all must have on this day every year. But, you are such an inspiration in the way you find hope and beauty, and then share it with all of us. I believe that mothers are so much more than women who give birth. They are all of us. All women who nurture, love, inspire.

    Peace to you, my friend.

    • Hi Liz,

I agree with you. I don’t have biological children, but we have a very strong mothering capacity and most in-person friends and co-workers have remarked on that. We think that you have a phenomenal mothering power in you. We know that we feel so much good and so much peace and friendship from you, and we see all the mothering that you do for so many. We appreciate that gift that you give to us and to others.

We are glad this year that we were able to write three posts for the topic of mother’s day and to feel and think about it and then to go out and have a good time. We went out for a special meal and then out for a special dessert too. It was lovely. We hope you had a great day.

Good and healing thoughts to you.

      Kate
